English, Class - 7: Present Simple vs Present Continuous

Routine vs. Right Now, Present Simple (Oddiy) = Doimiy (Permanent), Present Continuous (Davomiy) = Vaqtinchalik (Temporary / Right Now)

The Great Battle: Routine vs. Right Now ⚔️

1. The Core Difference (Asosiy farq)

Present Simple (Oddiy) = Doimiy (Permanent) We use it for facts, routines, habits, and things that are true for a long time. (Biz undan faktlar, odatlar va uzoq vaqt davomida to'g'ri bo'lgan narsalar uchun foydalanamiz.)

  • I live in Tashkent. (Bu mening doimiy uyim / This is my permanent home.)
  • I drink coffee. (Bu mening odatim / This is my habit.)

Present Continuous (Davomiy) = Vaqtinchalik (Temporary / Right Now) We use it for actions happening exactly at this second, or temporary situations that will end soon. (Biz undan ayni shu soniyada sodir bo'layotgan harakatlar yoki tez orada tugaydigan vaqtinchalik holatlar uchun foydalanamiz.)

  • I am staying in a hotel. (Vaqtinchalik, men u yerda doim yashamayman / Temporary, I don't live there forever.)
  • I am drinking coffee. (Hozir, shu soniyada / Right now, at this second.)

2. The "Cheat Codes": Signal Words (Yashirin kalitlar: Signal so'zlar) 🕵️‍♂️

In tests and conversations, look for these "signal words." They will tell you exactly which tense to use! (Testlar va suhbatlarda bu "signal so'zlarni" izlang. Ular sizga aynan qaysi zamondan foydalanish kerakligini aytadi!)

🟢 Present Simple Signals (Odatlar): Always (har doim), usually (odatda), often (tez-tez), sometimes (ba'zida), never (hech qachon), every day/week (har kuni/hafta).

🟡 Present Continuous Signals (Hozirgi payt): Now (hozir), right now (ayni paytda), at the moment (shu ayni damda), currently (hozirda). ⚠️ Action words: Look! (Qara!), Listen! (Eshit!), Be quiet! (Jim bo'l!). (If you say "Look!", the action MUST be happening right now!)

🚨 Extreme Cases: The Chameleon Verbs (Xameleon Fe'llar) 🦎

This is the most advanced part of Phase 1! Some verbs act like chameleons—they change their meaning depending on the tense.

1. The Verb "HAVE" (Ega bo'lmoq vs. Bajarmoq)

  • Stative (Possession / Bor bo'lmoq): I have a car. (Mening mashinam bor.) -> NEVER "I am having a car."
  • Action (Eating/Doing / Yemoq yoki bajarmoq): I am having breakfast. (Men nonushta qilyapman.) / I am having a shower. (Men cho'milyapman.)

2. The Verb "THINK" (O'ylamoq / Fikr bildirmoq)

  • Opinion (Fikr / Ishonch): I think English is easy. (Mening fikrimcha, ingliz tili oson.) -> NEVER "I am thinking it is easy."
  • Brain Process (Miyadagi jarayon): Wait, don't talk. I am thinking about the answer. (To'xta, gapirma. Men javob haqida o'ylayapman.)
